Doug: You may mail the thesis here to CMU. We are around here until
early August (about 9-10 Aug), at which point we take off for the
West Coast for a few weeks, to be back here about 1 Sep (for a short
while then off for Japan in Oct). It thus appears that we will
miss you in Aug, but we should coincide in Sep. Good to know
you already have a house.

Doug,
Your box of books arrived today. It is currently in Professor Traub's
office. He is in Berkeley for the summer. When you come the books will
either still be there or will be in your office. See you in August.

You might want to give some thought to seeing if
you can bring the IMSSS CAI LISP program to CMU with you.
They can use it, and I understand IMSSS is thinking of
making an export version.

Doug: Sorry. Yes, I did get it. Yes, I will try to get
finished with it this week. I was right in the midst of
some other obligations that had been in the stack for
a long time (eg another these, unread for 3 months!)

I CONTINUE TO READ SLOWLY THROUGH YOUR THESIS. I DO NOT YET HAVE THE NEW
VERSION, THOUGH YOU MAY HAVE DELIVERED A NEW VERSION RECENTLY. PERHAPS THE BEST
TIME TO DISCUSS IT WOULD BE DURING AN EVENING IN SANTA MONICA NEXT WEEK, WHEN I
EXPECT TO OVERLAP YOUR VISIT TO RAND.
THE THESIS IS BRILLIANT AND I FIND THAT I HAVE VERY FEW COMMENTS, SO SATISFYING
ME WILL BE EASY--AT LEAST AS FAR AS I CAN TELL RIGHT NOW.
